Smart watchlists
A Smart Watchlist is a list defined by a rule instead of by a fixed set of tickers. We run the rule and refresh the members for you, so the list is always current - open one and you'll see the symbol count, the rule behind it, and how long ago it was refreshed.
There are 17 of them, and we'll be adding more over time. Ask us if there's a list you'd like to see.
Because membership is driven by the rule, you can't rename a Smart Watchlist, delete it, or add and remove symbols by hand. You can Duplicate it, though, which gives you a copy you own and can edit freely. You can also click the + at the end of any row to copy a single ticker onto one of your own lists.
Volatility and options
- High IV Rank - IV Rank ≥ 80. Names where options are expensive relative to their own history: the starting point for premium selling.
- Cheap options (low IV) - IV Rank ≤ 20. The opposite side: where long premium and debit structures are cheapest.
- IV richer than realized - IV − RV Percentile ≥ 80. Implied volatility is running well above what the stock is actually delivering.
- Elevated put skew - Put Skew Rank ≥ 80. Puts are bid up relative to calls, which is where put selling and put spreads get paid best.
Price action and momentum
- Top gainers - Stock Change ≥ +5%
- Top losers - Stock Change ≤ −5%
- Near 52-week highs - 52-week high distance ≥ −2%
- Near 52-week lows - 52-week low distance ≤ +2%
- Unusual volume - Stock Volume Power ≥ 3. Stocks trading far above their normal volume, usually because something happened.
Events
- Earnings this week - Earnings Date ≤ 5 sessions. Useful in both directions: as a universe for earnings plays, or as the EXCEPT set when you want to stay away from event risk.

- High growth - Stock Score Growth ≥ 8
- High dividend yield - Dividend Yield ≥ 4%

How to use them
Star the two or three you actually care about so they sit in your sidebar, then use them the same way you'd use any watchlist: open one and glance at it with your own columns, click Use in a scan to run a saved scan against it, or add it to the
Include/Exclude Symbols filter inside a scan. A few combinations that work well:
- Scan your own watchlist + High IV Rank to catch your usual suspects plus anything with unusually rich premium.
- Scan the S&P 500 but exclude Earnings this week.
- Treat High IV Rank, Unusual volume and Earnings this week as a daily idea-generation starting point.
